The Romance of the Older Woman

I have a guest post over at Love in the Margins on why we don’t see more older characters–especially heroines–in genre romance. In general I think it has to do with the fact that while “fantasy” and “escapism” aren’t terms used in the official definition of the genre, they are part of most readers’ and authors’ expectations.

And I noticed that Jackie at Romance Novels for Feminists was recently considering some of the same questions.
